Jamie Oliver, TED Talks, and changing the world

February 12, 2010

I am passionate about food culture and the idea that we (as modern humans and particularly Americans) need to change the relationship we have with the food that sustains us. I am also an enormous fan of TED Talks. If you haven’t been introduced, TED Talks is a platform in which experts from every walk of life with every type of expertise are able to express themselves (usually eloquently and convincingly) on an issue that is important to them. Talks are funny, inspirational, emotional, moving, exciting, and almost any other positive -ing you can think of.

In 2010 my two loves were combined. Jamie Oliver has been awarded TED Talks annual TEDPrize which granted him $100,00, 20 min.,and one wish in support of his attempt at changing the world. Jamie spoke about food. I was so impressed!

Please watch this if you can! There is a free TED talks app for smart phones, so you don’t even need to sit at a computer desk to do so. If you like it, there are other talks and other resources to explore further. Let’s change the world!
